Punjab NEET UG Counselling Rounds

Punjab NEET UG counselling is conducted in multiple rounds to fill available MBBS and BDS seats.

Round 1

Round 1 is the first major seat allocation round. Candidates register, submit their preferences and are considered for seats according to their NEET merit, category, eligibility, choices and seat availability.

Candidates allotted a seat must complete the reporting and admission formalities within the prescribed deadline.

Round 2

Round 2 is conducted to fill seats that become vacant after Round 1 and to provide opportunities for eligible candidates seeking upgradation. BFUHS may also permit fresh candidates to register depending on the rules applicable to that round.

Candidates participating in subsequent rounds may have to submit willingness and a security deposit as prescribed by BFUHS. Previous BFUHS counselling schedules have included separate security deposits for government and private college participation.

Round 3

Round 3 is conducted against remaining vacancies. BFUHS may invite fresh applications depending on the number of seats and the rules for that round.

Candidates who did not join or resigned from a seat in an earlier round may have to register again, depending on the applicable rules.

Stray Vacancy Round

If seats remain vacant after the regular rounds, BFUHS may conduct a stray vacancy round as per the applicable counselling guidelines.

Candidates must carefully check eligibility restrictions before participating because stray vacancy rounds generally have stricter rules regarding joining and seat surrender.

Punjab NEET UG Choice Filling Process

Choice filling is one of the most important stages of Punjab NEET UG counselling because seat allotment is influenced by the order of preferences submitted by the candidate.

How to fill choices

  1. Log in to the BFUHS counselling portal.

  2. Open the choice-filling section.

  3. Select the preferred course, college, quota and category, wherever applicable.

  4. Arrange colleges in the desired order of preference.

  5. Review the complete choice list carefully.

  6. Save and submit the choices.

  7. Lock the choices if the portal provides a separate locking option.

  8. Download or retain the choice submission confirmation.

Candidates should include all realistic preferences rather than selecting only one or two colleges. The choice order should reflect the candidate's actual preference after considering college, course, quota, fees, location and admission chances.

BFUHS counselling materials describe the choice process in terms of selecting the course, college, quota and category and arranging preferences before final submission.

Punjab NEET UG Seat Allotment Process

BFUHS conducts seat allotment after the completion of choice filling.

  1. Registration

  2. Merit List

  3. Choice Filling

  4. Seat Processing

  6. Objection Window, if applicable

  7. Final Allotment

  8. Reporting

Candidates who receive a seat should download the allotment letter and report to the allotted institution within the specified deadline.

At reporting, candidates must present their original documents for verification and complete the required fee and admission formalities. Failure to report within the stipulated period can result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
